When you look to find what you need to does it create an interest to find out more of what went on behind the scenes in the collection of cook books, the hand me down recipes. How they lived in war times and how much were they all involved with the troops that their government sent to war.
Is there also the interest in the Afternoon Tea that we all love, the hustle and bustle of the staff making sure every cake tastes angelic, and that the sandwiches are cut to the right size. Did they worry about such things in the times of Victorian times, I have a feeling that the cakes were something Queen Victoria liked and they had to be perfect. she looks grumpy and hard to please. Before you all rush off to Buckingham Palace to do your own Afternoon Tea tasting, sorry I'm first. |

Now if we jump ahead and follow the routines and cultures of the royal family, their ups and downs that should be kept hidden are there in view, well for me they are. So London should be calling and allow me a visit to the finest Afternoon Tea and a visit to the places that maybe we do not get to see. Should the royal family be so scrutinised that we need to know every single time they move a muscle? Should we intrude into their family life to get a knowledge of how human they are. Is that really necessary or can we allow the privacy of the family remain private. In the understanding of privacy and how people have been so intrusive in my life, I feel that they should have their quiet, private times without the public knowing a thing.
So cakes and delights, magic and tastes, refined in completion and delicious to eat. Not too expensive and not too stuffy, A view to being in the light of a great dynasty and how they perform in front of a crowd. Maybe we would all learn something. The pomp and ceremony, the cries of tears, the smiles of laughter and all those years. The children behaving a little to well behaved, I like boisterous and laughter with a demanding stubbornness, something to smile at when the character shines through. In Vintage and History there is nothing better than Buckingham Palace and the Royal Family to tell a tale of just how human they really are, but not super human.

Vintage; Beyond Vintage
The Ritz Hotel
The Ritz Hotel
It's still standing with so much class. Does the Vintage Hotel still attract the class or is it that a fine art of money that now crosses the threshold. Today the hotel is a treat to enjoy. Afternoon Tea becomes the ploy. Taking us back in time when only the elite, the doors would open for. Times were different. Did you ever wonder what it was like to stay at that time and then, the clatter of feet, the chat and the laughter, as the chink of the champagne glasses came together, the champagne filled the glass, the room, the air. In all it grandeur of high society, and of wealth.
Hats in the moment, hats to the door. The inside information, what colours are to be worn. In this torment of life, that is it to be torn? Smiles that are smiling, laughter to be heard, all in the merriment of The Afternoon Tea at the Ritz.

The love in the moment, the style of the now. Vintage in the bucket, all crazy and like the crow. How far does the crow fly when sitting in a bucket. Who cares! Because Afternoon is there and we love it.

Double take and open the car door, the Vintage refined. Classic movement is the dance, walking correctly, head held high. The car door opened, the Ritz is a welcoming site. Looking forward to the splendour of those cakes in flight. The Platinum and Gold mix with the opulence is all there to see. Now go back to the years of Vintage and live like you were there, the glamour and glitz of "Putting on the Ritz". No need to stand tall, you and in the Ritz and that says it all. Old England at it's best. Old England with a gleam.

To the Fred Astaire dancing, and the clipperty clop. In accompaniment of Ginger makes the whirl of the magic come together quite nicely in the subject of dance. When returning to the Vintage and the love of finery, the art of life. In that wonderment of compliments, of gentlemanly behavior unless you're a cad. How the art of the Ritz becomes the pleasure of life. Remembering the times of the vintage when Kings were Kings and Queens were just that.

Tea for two or three, maybe four, then five. A moment of madness, keeps the soul alive. I am wondering what delights come to me from behind that door. You can look to the table and find what you need, the cutlery the crockery Vintage and complete. The small delicate sandwiches, and cakes that surprise. The waiter to serve the champagne and the tea. "Cheers, and Cheese" The smiles and the glasses chink and the camera snaps.

Champagne and the glasses, the corks are 'popping' all around, laughter and completion, nobody giving a dam, the love of the moment and enjoyment, let's listen to the classical sounds of life in a second and all those seconds count, as life is beginning to find the end to start. When the end is there, so to is the beginning of life, much in a moment with the seconds to find. That's the living of the love and the love of living in this life.
